I have spent the entire day in bed trying to recuperate from Cindiddy's blogger birthday dinner/whiskey and cake overconsumption. Life has been causing an abnormal amount of anxiety and uncertainty these past few weeks, but it looks like things are going to get a little brighter. Sometimes you need to feel a little lost to give yourself the chance to appreciate all that you are lucky to possess.

Off to bed now. It will be a cozy and quiet Saturday night for me :-)

Tickets are booked and I'm ready to go! We are off to London next week. Departure date is Valentine's Day. I can't think of a better way to spend the day than in the air with the boy, flying back to the place where we fell in love. Can't wait for a cold stroll down Portobello Road, long dinners with the boy at Electric Brasserie, spending an insane amount in less than twenty minutes at Topshop Oxford Circus, blogger friends and shows at London Fashion Week, gigantic cappuccinos and a stack of my favourite magazines at our regular coffee stop, cocktail fueled nights with old friends, and catching up with a million and one people. It's been wayy too long!

It has been an insanely relaxed weekend and I'm a little too sleepy to let it end. I love having friends accompany me to my Dad's sanctuary, or as they say the "ChristingC Compound," for bonding time away from the crowded city. I'm not sure if it's the air, absence of credit card transactions, free flow food and wine, or the fact that there is never a single chance you could bump into a familiar face, but this place defines the word chill. I stomp around in my pajamas and wet hair, you daily brain power is used to decide between a massage or facial, and the meals are guaranteed to be fresh and delicious. It's always nice to reveal another side of yourself, to shed every vanity, to lose pretentious behaviour, and share this little piece of my life and family with new friends. Come back soon :-D

My default outfit this week... a cozy grandpa cardigan with a unique twist, baby soft white tank, destroyed denim shorts, and knit socks because I keep forgetting to purchase tights. Unfortunately I managed to misplace the hat after a raucous, sake fuelled dinner and am pretty sure it would be inappropriate to repeat this outfit in the presence of anyone who has been in my company these past few days. Partaking in a chilled night in bed with the boy before heading to the countryside for the weekend. My mood is definitely craving a little momentary silence.

Sometimes I wonder when everyone became so dramatic. As a child you believe it's so easy. The formula is so mundane and enforced, there isn't any courage to reach outside that box. Go to school, find a job, locate a husband, create a family. Live in a mediocre/nice house, have dinner at 6pm, go on vacation once a year to somewhere that can provide sunshine, preferably Hawaii. Was it like that in your suburb in the middle of somewhere America? At the age of fifteen I quickly hopped out of that box, took the first opportunity to shock those around me and I guess I have been thrashing at those boundaries since. If you tell me this isn't a real job, if you tell me I'm old enough to do certain things, if you try to make me grow up, I will fight with you even more. Maybe we are dramatic because it's more interesting. Maybe it makes it easier to find your way. Maybe you should just stop to listen. Would you rather be a little lost and fragile, than what they told you to be?

Just a casual Sunday outfit. I wore this camouflage skirt last night, but dressed it down with the most worn in American Apparel sweatshirt for an afternoon with the boy. I started my brunch with the usual bloody mary, the boy managed to consume four eggs, we agreed Oolaa's orange juice is extra delicious for a reason we cannot decipher, and quickly rushed home before the Australian Open final. I am now tucked tightly into bed contemplating a nap while observing the boy cheer for his favourite tennis player. Nothing beats a lazy end to the weekend.

I have decided Bodkin make the best knitwear. From their chunky recycled wool Caos sweater to the ultra sheer long sleeve Catalyst top there is enough variety to keep me happy in heaps of snow or on a breezy beach. I decided to throw on the uniquely knit Plasma dress during a rushed moment just before leaving home. My brother's well used Louis Vuitton belt was added as a last minute afterthought and actually made the perfect accessory.

Preparations are in full gear here in Hong Kong and everyone is awaiting their Chinese New Year celebration. The boy and I are all packed and ready to cross the busy border into China to spend the holiday with the family. We have arrived home safely and I'm snuggly tucked in bed feeling a little under the weather. I am such a magnet for post holiday flu. This last trip was the perfect antidote to a crazily busy year, and I'm pretty sure it's the first time the boy and I fully relaxed in months. Unfortunately between all the eating, sunning, swimming, and cocktailing we forgot to pick up the giant camera and snap a few outfit shots. Don't worry, our holdiay is pretty heavily captured via iPhone (wow we are so 2012) so in case you don't follow me on Instagram, here is a little diary of our trip!

It's the last day in paradise and I'm reluctant to return to reality. We have just over 24 hours to soak up as much sun and sand as one can handle. The boy and I have been on a hundred bumpy tuk tuk rides, ventured out to discover the most seculded stunning beaches, drank rum infused pineappe cocktails by the bucket or half watermelon full, consumed the freshest lime drenched spicy seafood, immersed ourselves in the heaven worthy sunsets, and fully relaxed for the first time in forever. I'm off to enjoy our last day, but I'll leave you with a few snapshots.

A whirlwind four days in Taiwan. The boy and I managed to pack plenty of play and rest into almost every moment. We ate too much, drank too much, danced too much, and laughed too much, but you really can't go overboard on any of those activities. We are already plotting our return, but for now I'll look forward to sunny beaches and a few days in Thailand.

We have a single late night in Bangkok before flying off to Koh Samui. Going to find some yummy seafood for a late night snack.

We have arrived to middle of nowhere Taiwan and are staying in a small wooden house in the mountains for the next few days. Seriously. It just so happens my Mom and Stepdad moved to this obscure location, so we are spending our time dodging mosquitos, eating lots of delicious home cooked meals, stomping around their vast grounds, and generally just chilling out. It's nice to feel like I have nothing to do and nowhere to be. For a few days anyway.

The past Friday started with one big party, which was insane enough to cause the boy and I to hibernate for the remainder of the weekend. Tania, always known for her slightly eccentric themed parties, chose "geeks and hipsters" as her birthday theme. The crowd was a mixture of bloggers and bankers* (yes, Tania is both a fashion blogger and a banker) ...so while us bloggers tried to make our outfits resemble something we may not wear on a daily basis, the bankers decided anything from normal glasses to the 3D variety meant "hipster." The night did not end until every bottle of champagne was consumed and the police were at the door. Highlights included meeting Kenneth from How I Met your Style, delicious ribs from Magnolia, gigantic whiskey shots, a pecan pie instead of birthday cake, and the drunken few of us left at the very end of the night.

*To avoid any offense or confusion, party guests that were not bankers or bloggers included the boy, super hot headhunter Kirsteen, and her creative director boyfriend Max.

Inspiration for the first week of 2012.

I've spent the last few nights hibernating in solitude at home, devouring plain udon noodle soup. aromatic rose tea, and morsels of insanely rich chocolate. I was craving a little time to myself. To browse, think, sleep, wear seaweed face masks, paint my nails a shocking red, study my pores in the mirror, and wear the same gross t-shirt. As Carrie Bradshaw would say... I needed time to indulge in my "single girl behaviour" and these last two nights gave me just that. I'm very lucky I have a brother to keep the boy occupied ;-)

At times the simplest outfits can be as comforting as a foamy cappuccino or warm hug. After spending over 24 hours in bed recuperating from new year festivities, the boy convinced me to emerge, unbrushed hair and all, for a chilled dinner date. I, being lazy as ever, slipped on whatever was within reaching distance which meant my softest Kain tank, One Teaspoon shorts, and my trusty leather jacket. Comfy, easy, and perfect for an over indulgent meal at our favourite Korean BBQ. How am I still tired? I need to find an energy source to get me through this week! Maybe being giddy about our upcoming trips to Taiwan and Thailand will do the trick ;-)

Happy New Year! How was your NYE? We spent a long, insane night at Lily & Bloom feasting on an array of delectable canapes, drinking cinnamon infused cocktails, vodka and glasses of bubbly champagne, snacking on the stacks of American candy, and bringing in the new year with copious amounts of glee. This New Year was incredibly emotional for me. Maybe because 2011 was such a life altering, and enlightening year, and probably one of the hardest of my life. I have met inspiring, open hearted friends, grown closer to those I love, tested the strength of my relationships, and challenged myself in a way that I never believed possible. It was important to end on a high note, and move forward with hope, determination, and love.

Just over a year ago the boy and I took the gigantic leap to uproot our lives and implant ourselves in the bustling city of Hong Kong. Decided to visit my Dad's country club for a single day and settled upon lazing about for two. It's hard to leave with the abundance of pampering, food, and sleep on offer. Back to the city tomorrow, but for tonight the boy and are having having a quiet meal for two lakeside.

A little peek at a whirlwind, ultra busy, very drunken Friday night. We started out with a Pucci dress-up session before heading over to an Elysiants x Chopard black tie event at The Mira Hotel. After a suitable amount of wine and canapes, we decided to embark on our second long taxi journey to an incredible loft in Aberdeen for a fetish themed Italian dinner party (it really was a lot less weird than it sounds). We feasted on lasagna, ceviche, tagliata with a hefty side of champagne and vodka shots. Everyone agreed that loft style living was the answer, and the boy and I have basically decided to warehouse hunt for our next home asap. Our third stop was a quick stumble to the very busy, very fashionable crowd at the Henry Holland x Electric Sekki party at Fly. We just about squeezed our way in and perched at the DJ booth behind the too cool Henry Holland as he played DJ and party host alongside our friend, the beautiful model/ DJ, Eve Speciall. By this point in the night picture taking had lost the battle to drinks and dancing, so photo documentation is non-existent. My memory becomes slightly hazy, but there are flashes of quick hellos, a stop at Drop to reunite with our dinner party friends, a windy dark ride home, and waking to an uneaten ham sandwich at my side. Needless to say I wasn't feeling very bright and shiny on this very cold Saturday.

It's beginning to feel a lot like the holidays ;-) Christmas is around the corner, sequins are scattering the city in abundance, and the smell of cinnamon dominates Starbucks' atmosphere. I'm pretty unhealthily obsessed with matte sequins at the moment, and Aje's resort collection offers the best antidote for such a craving. Although Winter only released a negligible amount of it's infinite chill into the Hong Kong weather, I am still feeling the urge to hibernate. December brings cravings of calorie drenched comfort food, cozy, shapeless outerwear, searing hot sweet flavoured drinks, the aromatic smell of freshly burnt wood fires, and cuddling under an enormous duvet. Meals are usually consumed in bed, and sleeping the mandatory eight hours a night just doesn't seem quite enough. What are you favourite December moments?

Hello. I know it has been awhile, but I promise to be on top blogging form once again. Life is steadily steaming ahead leaving me without time for contemplation or pause. My moods are swaying towards sloppily comfortable outfits, and dinner in bed over social interactions. I'm pushing myself towards a return to the gym and searching for a realistic, stable routine. The holidays are just around the corner, so hopefully an overdose of Christmas carols, cinnamon, and shopping will be the perfect antidote to my anticlimactic attitude.

Our little clan has turned into a slightly crazy, increasingly fun, tight knit group of four. Nights are always late and unpredictable, secrets are pretty much non exsistent, and laughter, tears and alcohol flow in abundance. I'm always a fan of letting go, living without abandon, and doing what really makes you happy, so what's better than finding people who share this exact mindset. Moving to a new city makes you realize how important those close to you are, and when trying to build new relationships all you can do is dedicate each moment to learning more and growing close. Not every night involves downing drinks, eating multiple meals, and sharing stories that probably shouldn't be shared, but almost every night is a good place start.

Last week, a few of my favourite Hong Kong fashion bloggers and I, ventured to Causeway Bay for a special preview of the first Jack Wills store to hit Asia. The location was every bit playful, rugged, preppy, and quintessentially British as you would imagine, and the Jack Wills Asia team managed to bring a little bit of Britain right into the centre of Hong Kong. We played dress up, met the co-founder and head of womenswear, and the boy even participated in an exclusive styling session with our token boy blogger JJ aka The Wanderlister. I predictably fell for the over size men's cardigans and their cozy faux fur jacket, while the boy couldn't get enough of their perfectly tailored plaid shirts. Jack Wills will open at Leighton Centre and Harbour City on December 1st. Just in time for Christmas. Go there if you are in need of a preppy, holiday fashion fix.

I can't locate an excuse worthy of my poor efforts in posting this week, but my photographer, aka my bro, and myself have been more than a little busy. I promise to get back to normal outfit posting next week, but for now here is a little summary of my week via instagram (i'm christingc if you wanna follow!).

From top to bottom: late night taxi rides, Forever 21 x Macau, Stolen Girlfriends Club dress, Armani party where we missed Kelis' performance, my new fave korean bbq joint, little excursion to Discovery Bay, Stylein Lush, Sukiyak at Chez Cindiddy, and last night at a particularly random drunken moment.

It's Saturday night and I'm beyond exhausted. The boy and I have raided CitySuper for an array of dinner supplies and I'm ready to dig in and stay indoors all night. Hopefully I'll be back to my energetic self in time for Sunday lunch.

If you live in Hong Kong and have a slight shopping addiction like myself, you too are probably insanely excited about the soon to be launched Forever 21 store here in the city. Forever 21 have done a successful job in keeping the whole thing more than a little mysterious, and most don't even know when and where this store will suddenly appear, but yesterday I was one of the lucky few who were whisked off to Macau to get a sneak peek. Last night a few of my blogger besties and Hong Kong's elite press were ferried across to Macau, or MGM Grand to be specific, for a little preview of what the brand has in store for Hong Kong. We were treated to a fun meal, generous goody bags, and an impressive hologram show where models actually appeared out of thin air. I can't wait to share more once the store actually launches and we all get to dip into Forever 21's perfectly on trend collections.

The boy and I attended the rainy launch of Shanghai Tang's Mongolian Village Pop-up location on Tuesday. It wasn't until we were almost through the front door that we realized there wasn't one outfit shot taken. I guess we were having a really good time, but a few hallway shots are better than nothing right? I ate 18 chicken nuggets, one hamburger, and a large fries straight after these pics were taken. Honestly all these events are really hindering my need for a real meal before 1am.

Last week we attended the opening of Central's new department store appropriately name, Central Central. Located at the exact spot formerly known as HMV, Central Central lies at the centre of Hong Kong Island's busy streets, restaurants, and shops. The incredible campaign was styled by ultra talented Priscilla I'Anson and filmed and photographed by her other half, Boris Burgess of HKHQ.TV. And those weren't our only friends involved in the project. The beautiful models for the campaign happen to be HK Fashion Bloggers, Cindy and Tania!! Lots of bloggers showed up to support the members of our tight little group and ogled the stunning video where Cindy maps her way through the city, and Tania looks like the power career woman she is ;-) If you are in Hong Kong make sure to stop in to check out the wall of photos from the campaign, see the urban and stylish video, and maybe pick up a pair of Steve Madden boots on the way out.

Shedding layers of doubt and learning to hear the voices surrounding me. It's my nature to want to be right, to debate, and to question. You could joke this could be hereditary, as my brother shares a similar trait, but there comes a point where you don't wish to be this person any longer. I yearn for enduring patience, an eagerness to absorb the knowledge of others, and a quieter mind and outlook. A peaceful, optimistic mindset can only lead to a similar lifestyle. If you disagree you can still gain further insight from another point. If you dislike, you can delve into the reasons why, and if you stop to quietly listen and think, maybe your mind would find it easier to breathe.

Is it really Friday already? I'm not positive when this week dissapeared, but the boys and I have decided to be productive. What does productive mean for us? Wander to the showroom sometime between midday and 1pm, daily meetings and brainstorming sessions over Vitamin Water and sandwiches, utilizing iCloud to-do lists, being more snap happy with the Nikon at events, attempting to not miss lunch dates, and sleeping at a far earlier hour than usual. I think it's working.

Moving your life to a entirely new place in both the physical and lifestyle sense can almost drain your emotions dry. A year hasn't even passed since our relocation to Hong Kong and I can barely reach back to my former London mindset. Stacks of responsibility has now been set heavily upon my shoulders, and days flash by without any notice of what may come next. New relationships are building and existing ones are shifting to fit into this new mold. You learn about yourself and those around you, who have reached out to care and support, and those who have forgotten once your presence is no longer near. You sift through all the mess to hold on to what is secure and strong. Building a new life at the same time as building a business is far more straining than I could ever have imagined. Everyday I learn more about my new crowded home, my new friends, the new bustling city I now call home. I learn about the hardships and excitement about being fully involved in a start-up business, how to integrate family and work relationships, the finer art of networking, and ways to push myself out of my tight comfort zone. I battle my shy and idle ways on a daily basis, and make a full effort in embracing the waves of incoming opportunity. I now realize how sheltered my life was, and may be growing up for the first time. Shedding so many layers of protection has shifted my attitude in a slightly new direction, and through all the stress there are insane shining moments. Life has become exciting and unpredictable. There are days you scream in absolute happiness, and others where you cry with frustration. I feel lucky everyday for the incredible people that surround me and all they have sacrificed to put me where I am now, all the opportunities that have been literally placed into my lap, and all the amazing memories I'm building each day.

We spent Saturday saying goodbye to Summer at W Hotel's "Cococabana" themed pool party, which was also the last of the season. Our favourite Hong Kong DJ, Angus Wong, invited us to sip fruity cocktails, dance to Ibiza style tunes, and take shots out of a gigantic ice luge. Apparently we didn't find our beds until 4am and still managed to make it back to W for their Sunday champagne brunch. Crazy I know, but who can turn down unlimited Perrier Jouet just after you wake.

Last night the boys and I cabbed it out to middle of nowhere Chai Wan to attend one of the coolest parties of the season. To celebrate Lane Crawford's new shopping experience "lab by lane crawford," they threw an all out crazy party set in an abandoned warehouse, otherwise known as "Pink is Punk." The event was a collaboration with Milan-based art director, Marcelo Burlon, who took his place at the DJ stand all night, and managed to keep the fashion frenzied crowd dancing far past bedtime. Marcelo also directed an incredible video, Symphony of Hong Kong, featuring many of Hong Kong's creative fashion/art crowd including our friends, the impossibly chic Cindiddy and super stylist, Jolene. We danced and downed cocktails until everything faded into a fuzzy memory, and even managed to make it to Volar for further fun and excitement. The night ended with an ultra late Under Bridge Spicy Crab feast. Who doesn't love a night with all my Hong Kong favourites!

To my disbelief it's actually starting to resemble Autumn here in Hong Kong. I never believed the humidity and temperatures would drop, I almost forgot the notion of a midnight breeze, and jackets have been thrown off my radar completely, but here I am wearing a sweater. Okay, I have to admit, it's not quite chilly enough for the thickness of this particular piece, but mild Autumns allow for awkward pairings. Big knits and wispy bottoms are definitely my go-to during transitional seasons.

I experienced my first Typhoon 8 today. After a nearly rain barren summer, the last thing I expected was a little storm which could clear all of Hong Kong's busy streets. Typhoon warning days are like snow days. Everyone is ecstatic for a reason to stay in bed, and every business refuses to open in hopes of joining all the others who are enjoying a mid-week day away. I woke routinely late for a lunch date with my HK fashion blogger girls, only to be greeted by a million texts stating warnings for the upcoming storm. The boys and I sped to the market to stock up on supplies and holed up in front of our gigantic tv, snacking and watching guilty pleasure television. Aside from a short appointment in the boutique, we have barely left our bed-like, over cushioned couch. The truth is I barely felt a few drops of rain, but the giddy childish excitement from a "Typhoon 8" day was fun in itself. Back to normal hours tomorrow.

The dress is the one I wore to the party for the Quintessentially Magazine launch on Wednesday. Taking for granted the fact that Hong Kong's Autumn still allows for bare legs. I've been told it's like this until November. We shall see.

It has taken more than a second, but I'm starting to settle into the steady beat of my busy days. Autumn has taken a tiny nip out of Hong Kong's scorching heat and sweaty humidity, so I'm savouring every minuscule breeze felt each evening. I am now finding time to pause in my thoughts and actually appreciate all that has transformed my life these past few months. Despite extreme stress and drowning in inexperience, I have grasped the importance of the learning process. It can be a relief to step out of your crammed thoughts and fully relish the moments which make you smile. Afternoon naps that seem to last forever, an expected kiss to cure a toxic frown, beginnings of growing friendships, and support you never knew existed. Sometimes you have to take every step to earn the spectacular view.

Sundays are made for cartoons, naps, food, and general bonding with my favourites. Despite a slightly stressful early start, I'm happy to spend my day off with people that make me smile. Time for a reminiscent viewing of the Lion King and then dinner with my baby sister tonight. Perfect..

As I'm sure I've mentioned before, Moussy is one of my favourite discoveries since moving to Hong Kong. You have most likely already seen their amazing lookbooks featuring Abbey Lee Kershaw shot by Terry Richardson, so are probably just as obsessed as I am with the styling and oh so cool streetwear inspired collections. We were lucky enough to attend their event last week where they showcased the new A/W collection. Monday evening was spent at the book launch for Ning Lau's "My Treasures." I recommend this incredible hard back book for anyone who loves beautiful images and fashion. "My Treasures" houses images of Ning's amazing collections of anything from designer shoes and Hermes bags to paper dolls and Little Twins Star accessories. Every image is creative directed by industry insiders who Ning has met through her 10 years in the fashion industry. You must see them all, but here are my favourite images from the book.

Walked almost 30 mins in the rain to attend an event for the launch of one of the most inspiring fashion books I've seen in awhile. Lazy Sundays. Waking in a groggy mood only to discover the time is far past morning. Forgoing make-up for gigantic sunnies and a layer of flavourless chapstick. Slowly meandering down unusually barren Hong Kong streets searching for a easy solution to our rapidly increasing hunger. Cozily huddled in the corner of a minuscule dim sum cafe while over ordering delicious bite size portions of steamed buns and sticky rice. Rapidly getting through cans of soda in hopes of beating the blossoming headache and slight desire to return to bed. Lose the battle only to settle upon a evening in the spa. I don't think much else will happen today.

Summer is basically over, but Hong Kong's still boiling. I decided to throw in an injection of colour before I retreat into my preferred Autumn colour palette.

I could happily spend the majority of my day playing dress up. Hong Kong seems to be the event capital. Seriously, every evening we are bombarded with invites to everything from gallery openings, boutique launches, and off beat parties to posh events for diamonds and celebrity studded crowds celebrating I'm not sure what half the time. Last night we attended a product launch street party at creative store Konzepp, where pizza, chips and beers were available in abundance. We then moved on to the ultra chic Sevva for a Van Cleef & Arpels party complete with delectable canapes, excessive amounts of champagne, and a Cate Blanchette appearance (I didn't manage to spot her). The night ended at our neighboring "club" XXX who boasts a very trendy crowd, world famous DJs, and BYOB nights. Random mix I know. Either way my favourite part is picking out the dress...what to wear tonight? Maybe the one above?!

Being busy is probably one of the worst things that could ever happen to me, or at least I thought. I am by definition lazy. You will meet few people lazier than myself. I can spend days doing nothing, lying in bed, reading magazines, and just watching tv. The boy finds it hilarious that the minute I'm bored I can cause a self induced slumber without a second thought. The fast paced attitude of Hong Kong and I guess starting a business has left me with little time to indulge my idle ways, and I'm sure it is good for me to keep busy, but there are moments, days, weeks when I miss the old me. Wake up at 1pm. Stroll down the street in sloppy attire and gigantic sunnies to pick up my daily cappuccino and magazine of choice. Flip through t.v. channels for an hour while tweeting or facebooking. Blog. Nap. Arise at sunset to get ready for dinner and a night out. And the cycle would begin again. Sometimes you could throw in shopping, lunch date, or a vacation into the mix. Oh its such a distant memory, now I barely leave this place...but at least have a few amazing projects to reveal to you soon! xo

Feasting around a gigantic round table accompanied by family, drinking with the cousins after all the grown-ups have retreated to bed, chilling out on breezy balconies, playing with our numerous pets, and generally sleeping more than I have in the past month. Been avidly checking twitter, style.com, fashionista, cut blog, and a million other sites for NYFW updates. One of my favourite collections so far has to be Rag & Bone. Incredibly fun, neon hues, see through fabrics, loose printed silks, sheer crochet knits, and even a few hoods. I'm partial to the abundance of layers and could see myself playing around with more than a few looks from this collection. Is anyone else ecstatic about the fun colour palette popping up at NYFW?
